Yael J. Cidon is the owner of PetVets Animal Hospital, and earned her Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University Medical School of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Since before she could crawl, animals have been an integral part of her life. Her childhood was a virtual Noah’s Ark of imaginary animal friends and various strays, and she was convinced that someday she would be able to talk to the animals. While she may not have become Dr. Dolittle, 20 years of small animal hospital experience has made her well-versed in the language and behavior of cats and dogs.

She has always referred to her pets as her “kids”, and currently counts 2 girls and 1 boy in that mix. She also now has two human children, both boys, bringing the total count to 3 boys and 2 girls.

Prior to the creations of PetVets Animal Hospital, she practiced at a busy 24-hour facility in the northwest suburbs. It was a worthwhile five-year experience in routine emergency care where she enjoyed the privilege of making the acquaintance of wonderful pet owners and fell in love with hundreds of four-legged critters.

Jennifer Frey received her degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1999. She is originally from the Chicago area and anxiously awaited the day when she could return to skyscrapers and the excitement of city life.

She has one much-adored cat named Jasmine, although many find it hard to believe she does not have a personal zoo at home.

She is excited to be a part of the PetVets team and looks forward to establishing a wonderful relationship with you and your furry companions for many years to come.

Michelle Sherman received her degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 2001.

She is originally from the small central Illinois town of Charleston where she met her husband, Eric. Recently, she and Eric moved from Chicago to Berwyn in order to make room for the “family”: one dog, a challenging six-year-old red bone coonhound named Wallis, and two felines, the big and handsome Darwin and the “tuxedo” tabby Blitz.

She is excited to be part of the PetVets staff and looks forward to getting to know you and working with you to ensure the health and happiness of your pets for many years to come.

Chris Triola earned his degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 2007. He not only had the great opportunity to study abroad in the Caribbean, on the tiny West Indies island of St. Kitts, but also completed his clinical year of training at Washington State University. Originally from the South Suburbs (but a die-hard Cubs fan), he returned to the Chicago area to practice medicine in the West and South Suburbs before becoming an associate at PetVets Animal Hospital.

He has a golden retriever named Stryder who currently lives with Chris’s parents. While Chris was away at school for 4 years, his parents not only took care of Stryder but adopted another golden retriever, Casey. The two are the best of pals and Chris found it too hard to separate them.

Chris’s professional interests include internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery and canine orthopedics/rehabilitation. He is excited to be a part of the PetVets team and looks forward to meeting you and your pets.
